Elizabeth Holler Hunter, MS, CFRE is an award-winning journalist and a successful fundraiser with more than 22 years of full-time fundraising experience. As a consultant for 12 years, Elizabeth has worked with clients in North Carolina, the Southeast, and nationally. She has conducted million-dollar annual funds and has worked on capital campaigns ranging from $500,000 to $16 million. Her fundraising experience with volunteers includes CEOs of some of the largest companies in the nation. She has written more than 20 cases for support as well as brochures, annual reports and other publications.
Elizabeth's organizational work includes Board and administrative restructuring, capacity building and strategic planning and organizational development. Recently, as part of her consulting practice, she served as the Executive Director of a global communications foundation of The United Methodist Church. During her tenure the foundation raised funds to establish 14 centers of communication across Africa and established a partnership with The United Nations Foundation, which led to the initiation of a denomination-wide campaign targeted to raise $75 million to support global health. She has a Master’s degree in Human Resource Development/Organization Development from Western Carolina University and an undergraduate degree in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Elizabeth is deeply committed to the people and causes served by nonprofit organizations and she carries a particular passion for work that advances the well-being of women and children. A variety of life experiences serve as the foundation for her work, including participating in a month-long Outward Bound course, working internationally, covering the war in Bosnia and serving as a full-time volunteer for Habitat for Humanity for three years. She is an active volunteer and is the immediate past president and a current member of the Board of Directors for the Lake Eden Arts Festival in Black Mountain, which offers arts programming in schools, community centers, government housing projects and internationally.
